Woking's Epworth Choir, one of Surrey's leading choirs, has a membership of over 120, attracting singers from West Surrey and North East Hampshire. The choir aims to sing music to a high standard whilst raising funds for charity. Each year, the Epworth Choir perform a spectrum of music ranging from a major choral work and carols in Guildford Cathedral to classical/popular music and carols at venues in Woking.
The Epworth Choir regularly fills Woking's New Victoria Theatre and other venues in the town with performances of Choral Classics, Popular Music and Carol Concerts to help raise money for local and national charities. The Epworth Choir is a Registered Charity, No. 263007 and has, so far, raised more than £350,000 for good causes. THE CHOIR CELEBRATED IT'S 50TH BIRTHDAY DURING 2008 WITH PERFORMANCES OF VERDI REQUIEM AND CARMINA BURANA. THE CHOIR'S 51st SEASON WILL OPEN ON 25TH APRIL WITH A PERFORMANCE OF HANDEL'S MESSIAH AT GUILDFORD CATHEDRAL - for details go to 'FUTURE CONCERTS'. The Epworth Choir always welcomes new members.
