Epworth Choir is twinned with the Stadkepelle Kirchheim-unter-Teck in Bavaria and we exchange visits with them. This year we are delighted to be able to host their visit to our country and will be performing a concert with them in Guildford Cathedral.
Harry Bath is the Music Director of the Stadtkepelle and was a British Army musician before he left the army to live in Bavaria where he married and continued his musical interests by becoming the Music Director for the Stadtkapelle which has won numerous competition prizes in Germany. 2 years ago Epworth Choir visited Kirchheim-unter-Teck and apart from being made really welcome, we participated in a concert with the band who were premiering a newly written musical with local schools and the whole event was sold out twice so we had to perform 2 concerts in one evening! The band's playing is excellent, their humour is wonderful and they are excellent ambassadors for thier country and we will welcome them with open arms.
Harry has sent us this description of the Stadtkepelle.
The Municipal Band of Kirchheim unter Teck The Stadtkapelle Kirchheim unter Teck is the municipal band of the Town of Kirchheim unter Teck which is near the city of Stuttgart in Germany.
